Katy Perry’s “Electric” co-stars Pikachu!

Pikachu—is hands down one of the most beloved Anime characters of all time. His fame is such, that super pop star Katy Perry collaborated with him on her brand new song ELECTRIC.

No nostalgic memories quite compare to seeing one of your beloved characters make an appearance in an international video. If you would not have been aware that he’d be a part of Katy Perry’s new music video, you would definitely feel shocked to see him.

But happy too, we hope. And maybe a little pumped up? Emptional for sure? Hey, don’t ask us why—we are just sharing what we felt. Just the sight of a Pokémon being sung to by a pop star and him acting oh-so-cool around her is too kickass.

Both Pikachu and his pre-evolution form Pichu show their kawaii faces in Perry’s latest video.

“Electric” staring Pikachu!

“Electric” official music video follows both Katy and Pikachu as they travel together and enjoy nature. The video reflects on how both of them have evolved over the years.

Along with a day’s exploration, the pair also meditate together. Falling into a trance, they head back in time to the initial days of Katy’s career. Thanks to encouragement from her friend Pichu, Katy gives her first club performance.

Shot in Hawaii, the video has been directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada. If that name rings a bell, it could be due to his latest work on Raya and the Last Dragon. “Electric” was composed by Perry herself, along with Jon Bellion, The Monsters & Strangerz, and Bruce Wiegner.

Pokémon’s 25th anniversary

Understandably, the song is titled “Electric,” and has been released as part of a compiled album that celebrates Pokémon’s 25th anniversary. This is a part of a big compilation project. As for the rest of the project, Pokémon 25: The Album has been announced to officially release in the later half of 2021. Let us know what you think of the video!
